Police
are investigating the serious assault of a man that occurred
at approximately 3.30am on 4 September 2016 on Elliott
Street, Auckland City.
The 18-year old-victim was
approached by the offender who punched him in the
face.
The punch knocked the victim to the ground where he
lost consciousness.
The victim’s injuries included a
fractured skull and concussion.
The offender was described
as being a male Polynesian, 6 feet tall, medium to athletic
build, aged in his early 20s, and wearing a long sleeved red
checked shirt.
The offender was captured on CCTV shortly
before the attack and he is shown sitting on the front of
the pictured Nissan Pulsar.
“This was an unprovoked
attack that could have easily resulted in the death of the
victim,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Aaron
Pascoe.
