"Search for Australian tourist missing in Queenstown"

A search and rescue operation is underway in Queenstown for Australian tourist Robert Galdamez who hasn’t been seen since yesterday afternoon.

Mr Galdamez was last seen in the Ben Lomond walking track area at around 3pm.

He is 25-years-old and was last seen wearing blue Nike shoes, black sports leggings and a dark green North Face puffer jacket. 

Search teams were active overnight looking for the man and are in the area again this morning continuing the search.

Police ask members of the public in the area of the Ben Lomond walking track to keep an eye out for Mr Galdamez and report any information to Police immediately via 111.
