Santa is getting jazzed up with some assistance from the big brass for this year’s Christmas in The Square in Palmerston North.

We are delighted to announce that The Rodger Fox Big Band will be headlining Christmas in The Square for 2016.

The Rodger Fox Big Band is NZ's premier big band. A sizzling ensemble founded by jazz-big band legend Rodger Fox and featuring the cream of the Central NZ’s jazz talent and includes guest vocalists, featuring NZ entertainment legend Ray Wolf and local singers, Erna Ferry and Amy Hunt.

Event Director, Duncan McCann says “over the years we have put together plenty of our own versions of big bands for the event and it’s a real coup for us signing up one of the best International big bands around for the free Christmas in The Square concert”

Christmas in The Square 2016 starts at 5pm on Saturday, December 17th and includes loads of free children’s entertainment, a Christmas Night Market, Food Trucks and plenty of entertainment on the Big Stage.

Rodger Fox is New Zealand’s foremost jazz trombonist, big band leader, jazz educator, arranger and producer. He has performed in concert with some of the biggest names from the jazz and entertainment world and was winner of the 'Tui' for New Zealand Jazz Recording of the Year in 1981, 2000 and 2012 and a finalist in 1984 and 2001. Rodger spends his time between living in Palmerston North and teaching and playing in Wellington.
