Overnight motorway closures 30 October – 5 November 2016

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 4 November 2016. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.

NORTHERN MOTORWAY (SH1)

· Northbound lanes between Esmonde Road off ramp and Northcote Road on ramp, 31 October (approx 10:30p.m. to 5:00a.m.)

· Esmonde Road northbound (loop) on ramp, 31 October

· Esmonde Road northbound (diamond) on ramp, 31 October

· Onewa Road southbound on ramp, 30 October (approx 4:00a.m. to 11:00a.m.)

Uh oh. Bird flu – often deadly to humans - is not only being transmitted from infected birds to dairy cows, but is now travelling between dairy cows. As of last Friday, Bloomberg News reports, there were 32 American dairy herds with H5N1 infections.
