Big Book Sale to support the Hastings District Libraries

Big Book Sale to support the Hastings District Libraries

Friends of the Hastings District Libraries are holding a big, two day book sale at the Havelock North Function Centre on Friday 2 December from 9am to 5pm & Saturday 3 December from 10am to 4pm.

“The Friends are hosting this book sale in support of a current project to upgrade the Havelock North Library,” says Dr Richard Peach, Chairperson of Friends of the Hastings District Libraries.

The sales have a two-fold purpose says Dr Peach.

“The profits gained from sales of the discarded books are used to purchase items for public use at the district libraries, and we’re finding these books a new home.”

“This is a great opportunity for readers to grab a bargain – whether it is to stock up their bookshelf for summer reading or for recycled book crafts, there is a bargain for everyone.”

All books are 50c and magazines 10c unless marked otherwise.

Book sales are just one of the many ways the Friends support the Hastings District Libraries. The group fundraises by holding speaker events and advocates for public library services for the community. For more information on the Friends go to the library website www.hastingslibraries.co.nz or contact Chairperson Richard Peach on 870 6030.
