Official opening of ERIC tomorrow

Wellington City Council’s one-stop-shop Earthquake Recovery Information Centre (ERIC) will be opened by the Mayor Justin Lester at 1pm on Tuesday 6 December.

ERIC will bring together agencies from across the spectrum to help individuals and businesses deal with the aftermath of the 14 November earthquake and prepare for future major events.

Other agencies involved in ERIC include the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA), the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, Inland Revenue and relevant community organisations who will provide help at the information centre.

Staff will offer advice on how to access to the Government’s business support package, insurance and employment support. It also will also provide advice on what support is available for people who have been affected by the earthquake this includes loss of employment and what to do if you have been evacuated.
