Power outage in Upper North Island
- Kaikohe north
Transpower would like to advise
that they are currently experiencing a power outage on their
network in the Upper North Island. The outage is affecting
all areas from Kaikohe north.
We do know the location of
the fault on the transmission lines but it is unfortunately
in rugged terrain. Given the weather in the upper north
island, we are unable to safely send our crews in to patrol
the transmission lines at the site until first light. These
crews will be dispatched as soon as possible.
Those
residents and businesses in the areas affected should expect
to be without power until further notice. Once our crews can
get into the affected site, we will work as quickly as
possible to restore power to the area.
Further updates
will be provided throughout the
morning.
