Update #5: New water restrictions being introduced today

Water restrictions update #5

New water restrictions being introduced today.

• Tairua is going to hand-held hoses on alternate days only. So that means if someone has an address with an odd number they can use their hose on an odd numbered day (for eg if your house number is 11 you can use on 1st, 3rd etc). The sprinkler ban for Tairua continues.

• A sprinkler ban for Whitianga and Pauanui is being introduced today.

Existing restrictions

• Sprinkler ban for Tairua and Whangamata

The Thames South supplies remain under the following permanent restrictions:

• Matatoki - Hose and sprinkler ban
• Puriri - Sprinkler ban
• Omahu - Sprinkler ban

There are currently no water restrictions yet in place for Thames, Coromandel, Matarangi,Hahei and Onemana,

We're checking water use in our nine urban and two rural water supply schemes regularly and reviewing our water restrictions daily.

Check for updates on the Home page of our website, our Facebook page, our email newsletters and on Coromandel's MoreFM.

Please report any water leaks or wastage to our 24/7 Customer Services line: 07 868 0200.

This summer we are experiencing hot, dry weather and tens of thousands of visitors to our District.

Please be water smart. If everyone is careful with their use of water, it will lessen the need for more stringent restrictions through the busy holiday period.
