The Maclean Park Experience

The Maclean Park Experience

Looking for a fun day out with entertainment, food and activities – come along to next week’s Maclean Park Experience.

Kāpiti Coast District Council is hosting a family fun day at Maclean Park on Saturday 28 January between 11am to 3pm.

Parks and Recreation Manager Alison Law says the event will be a fun day out for all ages.

“The Maclean Park Experience is one of a range of opportunities for people to share their ideas for the future development of the park,” she says.

“It’s also a great day out for friends and families to enjoy one of our most popular parks in Kāpiti with plenty of food, entertainment and fun activities on offer.”

The Council is teaming with the Paraparaumu-Raumati Community Board, Paraparaumu Beach Business Association and Zeal to provide a day of live music, kids’ activities, a skate and scooter jam, spot prizes and much more.

Paraparaumu-Raumati Community Board Chair, Jonny Best says the event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to have their say on how they would like to see their park in the future.

“I am sure the community will come up with some great ideas for the development of the park. Once the development of the park has been completed we will have a park that the community can be proud of and enjoy for years to come.”

Feedback on the park can also be given by completing a questionnaire at www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/, emailing suggestions to macleanpark@kapiticoast.govt.  or posting them to Kāpiti Coast District Council, Private Bag 60601, Paraparaumu 5254. Copies of the questionnaire are also available at the Paraparaumu Library and the Council’s Rimu Road service centre.

People have until 20 February to give their suggestions, which Council will use to prepare development options and a draft management plan for further community consultation.

Whatever messages of tolerance and inclusion are offered in daylight, much of our culture tends to be hostile to Islam when we’re sitting in the dark, with popcorn.
Any number of movie examples come to mind, beginning with Rudolf Valentino’s role (over a century ago) as the romantic Arab hero in The Sheik...
