Fatality crash north of Culverden, State Highway 7, closes highway, short detours in place

A serious crash, involving a car and truck, a few kilometres north of Culverden, North Canterbury, means State Highway 7 will be closed until this afternoon. The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause.

State Highway 7 is likely to be closed until mid-afternoon and short detours are in place for both heavy vehicle drivers and light vehicle/ car drivers.

The highway is part of the new Picton to Christchurch Alternate Route.

Northbound drivers are advised to use Rotherham Road onto Flintoft Mouse Point Road, and the reverse for southbound drivers.
