Aucklanders achieve the target three days in a row!

28 March

Another great day - Aucklanders achieve the target three days in a row!

Aucklanders are continuing to reduce their water use with the city using only 396 million litres yesterday – that is less than 400 million litres for three days in a row!

Watercare is still asking residents and businesses to be waterwise, providing numerous tips and resources on the company website.

One large company that has really taken notice is Auckland Airport, which has saved more than three million litres of water since the call to make water savings went out.

Auckland Airport’s General Manager Aeronautical Operations, Judy Nicholl says: “Auckland Airport have engaged with the local aeronautical and business community, and also travellers and visitors to our terminals to encourage water conservation across the airport precinct.

“As a result, we’ve reduced usage by close to 3.2 million litres since the call for voluntary conservation was issued. That’s the equivalent of 160 litres per person employed in the area. We’d like to thank everyone involved, including the travelling public.”

Ends.
