PROPERTY DEVELOPER LOVE AND CO., ENLISTS KIWI ICONS TO CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA FOR THE CIVIC HEART OF AUCKLAND CITY

Property developer Love & Co., are treating the public to an iconic free concert in Aotea Square, featuring Kiwi icon’s Jordan Luck - The Exponents, and Ricky Ball - Hello Sailor.

On April 8th, Luck and Ball will perform alongside the Jordan Luck Band at a family-friendly concert to mark the beginning of a new era for the civic heart of Auckland city with the development of luxury lifestyle residence, the CAB and the surrounding area, which will become the Civic Quarter.

A great evening’s entertainment for all the family, popular Auckland food trucks will be on site to serve up delicious dishes, with Luck and Ball taking the stage at 5.15pm to deliver a line-up of iconic Kiwi tunes.

Love & Co., the property developer behind the purchase of the iconic CAB (formally the Civic Administration Building) are establishing a reputation for doing things differently by investing in the free concert as part of their long-term plans to not only develop The CAB luxury lifestyle residences but also inject new life into the heart of the city and the planned Civic Quarter.

John and Josephine Love, Love & Co. Directors, bring together considerable creative experience and a dedication to creating iconic homes and lifestyles that enhance the surrounding landscape around them, as much as the lives of the residents within.

John Love comments, ‘We’re hugely excited to be getting this project underway with a central city celebration everyone can enjoy. Jordan Luck and Ricky Ball are true Kiwi icons and to have them playing live in the heart of Auckland City is a watershed moment for the development of the Civic Quarter’.

“We’re investing in more than just buildings. We’re committed to creating an exciting lifestyle and developing the Civic Quarter. This public concert is just the start of our mission to revitalize the civic heart of Auckland city”, he concludes.

A transformational project that blends a mix of cultural, commercial, retail and residential, as well as a luxury hotel, the planned Civic Quarter development will form a culturally rich precinct alongside the Auckland Town Hall, Art Gallery and Theatre district.

The new development’s hospitality and lifestyle mix will be formed in collaboration with Site Hospitality, a concept firm that works with best in class operating partners to curate innovative hospitality solutions.

The area will be completely re-energised by the Civic Quarter development - with a focus on creating a true community feel the development will feature an integrated bar, restaurant, and lifestyle experience that showcases the best New Zealand talent by delivering their food, drink and wares to residents and visitors alike.

Celebrating local producers, market outlets will sell goods that have been freshly baked, roasted and brewed. The quarter will also feature eat streets, delis, retail and cultural experiences, creating a unique social platform that will be the first of its kind for Auckland.

According to the Auckland Council, Auckland’s central city population is set to double in the next 30 years making developments like this more important than ever.

The iconic free concert set to breathe life back into the heart of Auckland is just the start of Love & Co.’s plans to increase the city’s liveability while making the most of the opportunities Auckland has as a growing city.

ENDS

Love and Co.’s free public concert will take place on Saturday 8th April in the Aotea

Square from 5.15 – 7:15pm

Gordon Campbell: On Dune 2, And Images Of Islam

Depictions of Islam in Western popular culture have rarely been positive, even before 9/11. Five years on from the mosque shootings, this is one of the cultural headwinds that the Muslim community has to battle against. Whatever messages of tolerance and inclusion are offered in daylight, much of our culture tends to be hostile to Islam when we’re sitting in the dark, with popcorn.
Any number of movie examples come to mind, beginning with Rudolf Valentino’s role (over a century ago) as the romantic Arab hero in The Sheik...
