Multiple fatalities in SH2, Netherton crash

Emergency services are attending a fatal crash on State Highway 2, Netherton, in the Hauraki District.

Four people have died at the scene.

Two other people have been taken to hospital.

Two cars were involved in the incident which occurred at approximately 7:40pm this evening, Saturday 17 June, 2017.

SH 2 is closed between Fisher Road and School Road.

The closure is likely to remain in place overnight and diversions are in place.

The Serious Crash Unit are investigating.

Fog in the area is heavy at this time and Police are urging motorists to drive with extreme caution.

While next of kin are being informed of this tragic incident, no further information is available at this time.
