Police appeal for footage of train assault

Police appeal for footage of train assault

Please attribute to Senior Constable Gene Smith, Auckland City Police.

Police are continuing enquiries into the assault of two teenagers on a Western line train on Saturday 12 August, 2017.

The teens were travelling from Britomart on the Western Line train between 5.00 - 6.30pm when they were assaulted by five men who were disguised wearing masks and aprons.

Police are aware there were a number of people on board the train when the incident occurred and are appealing for further information including video footage from anyone who witnessed the incident.

Police have spoken to three men who are helping us with our enquiries, and we have identified a further two men who we are yet to speak to.

No charges have been laid at this stage and further enquiries are continuing.

We’d like anyone who has footage or more information about the incident to contact Senior Constable Gene Smith at Auckland City Police on (09) 302 6400, alternatively you can also provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
