Coromandel Food Trail Guide seeks listings
Calling all Coromandel-based food producers and establishments!
The 2018 edition of the Coromandel Food Collective’s Food Trail Guide is being compiled and all Coromandel-based food producers and establishments wishing to be included in the guide should contact our Council now.
The beautifully designed Food Trail Guide is available for visitors to download from our website www.tcdc.govt.nz/foodguide, Destination Coromandel's website www.thecoromandel.com/homegrown or pick up from information centres and Council offices.
The guide will also feature in the upcoming edition of Our Coromandel Magazine, which is currently in production.
Those wishing to be included in the guide pay $200 to cover costs of production. Every year it features a variety of establishments showcasing the Coromandel’s appeal as a destination for lovers of artisan beer, homegrown seafood, tantalising condiments and other foods.
This is the third year that our Council has featured local food and beverage producers with a targeted campaign aimed at promoting niche products that are grown or produced on the Coromandel.
"The guide also gets a lot of interest from media and the hospitality industry, with features being written in a variety of publications including Taste magazine," says Laurna White our Communications, Marketing and Events manager. "And as we head towards the summer season we're already starting to get approaches from media and industry about the 2017-18 guide."
The Food Trail Guide is also promoted through our ‘Coromandel Beach House’ stand in the Artisan Village of the Food Show in Auckland each year.
In July four local producers were given the opportunity to offer tastings and sales of their products under the banner ‘The Coromandel Food Collective’, while Council staff gave out copies of the guide at the Food Show.
A downloadable version of the guide is available from our webpage www.tcdc.govt.nz/foodtrail and also on the Destination Coromandel webpage www.thecoromandel.com/dine/
Would you like a version of the guide for your own website? You can also request an online version by contacting our Communications Team.
The Coromandel is an increasingly popular destination for food lovers and our communications team hosted a writer from Taste Magazine in Spring. The Coromandel Food Trail featured in the Taste January/February edition.
The work complements marketing by Destination Coromandel, our regional tourism organisation at www.thecoromandel.com and all those featured in the guide are added to the dining section of www.thecoromandel.com.
