Man arrested over meth manufacturing

Man arrested in relation to manufacturing methamphetamine in Palmerston North

Following a search warrant executed in Palmerston North earlier today, Police have arrested a man in relation to manufacturing methamphetamine.

The 45-year-old local man was arrested without incident, and he will appear in the Palmerston North District Court today charged with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The search warrant was executed after an investigation into his involvement in a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in Auckland.

“This is the third person we have arrested in the last six weeks in relation to the manufacture of methamphetamine” said Detective Sergeant Jonny Oram of the Manawatu Organised Crime Unit.

“Methamphetamine is not tolerated in our communities - it rips apart families and carries a huge social cost.”

“Having the trust and confidence of our communities is essential for Police, and the good relationships we share with them allows us to work together to hold to account those involved in the supply and manufacture of methamphetamine”.

Anyone with information about drug manufacture or supply rings are urged to contact their local Police Station.

Alternatively information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
