Leadership role in arts community available

We have an opportunity in the Tairua-Pauanui area for someone who is interested in the arts but also potentially has some business savvy or leadership skills to join the Coromandel Arts and Creative Industries Advisory Board.

Nominations close at 4pm on Monday 9 October.

The advisory board is responsible for advancing the Coromandel Arts and Creative Industries Strategy, including supporting the priorities from action plans between tangata whenua, arts communities and community boards, and leveraging funding from local, regional and national sources. The advisory board will also take on the role of distributing funding from creative New Zealand under the Creative Communities Scheme.

Valuable skills and experience for this role may include:

• Experience working or volunteering in the arts and creative industries

• Previous experience in a leadership role or with community organisations

• Strategic thinking and financial planning

• Experience with funding applications

• Business savvy.

Advisory board roles are voluntary and any expenses incurred in attending meetings will not be covered by our Council.
