The following can be attributed to Inspector Peter Cooper, Area Commander Canterbury Rural:
Canterbury Police continue to investigate a home invasion incident that occurred overnight at a house near the Hanmer Springs township.
Several shots were fired at the house during the incident.
While there were a number of people (adults and children) at the house at the time, fortunately nobody was injured by the shots fired.
A man at the house, aged in his 50s, was however assaulted and received a moderate head injury.
