Police and LandSAR volunteers will today be actively searching for missing Dunedin man Stephen Lowe.

Mr Lowe left work on Portsmouth Drive in Dunedin around 10am on Friday, September 15, and has not been seen or heard from since.

Police and his family have serious concerns for his welfare.

His black BMW car was located by a member of the public in the Catlins Conservation Park area yesterday morning.

Following this discovery Police launched a SAR operation in the area and crews were out looking for Mr Lowe until approximately 6pm.

This search included LandSAR volunteers and search dogs.

The search will resume again this morning.

Police would like to hear from people travelling through or hunting in the Owaka or Tautuku areas over the weekend Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th September, who may have seen the black BMW vehicle that Mr Lowe had been travelling in (pictured).
