Strike notice withdrawn by RMTU

The Rail & Maritime Transport Union (RMTU) have withdrawn their strike notice for Friday.

Train services will now operate as normal on Friday 1 December.

We are pleased to confirm that good progress was made during the negotiation session both last night and today, and negotiations between Transdev Wellington, Hyundai Rotem and the RMTU will continue.

We apologise for the late notice of changes to train services but are pleased that passenger services will not be disrupted tomorrow.

Transdev operate the trains in Wellington under the Metlink brand on behalf of the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
