Mayoral By-election Nominations Close

Nominations for Mayor in Kaipara have officially closed as of noon today. There are eight nominations for Mayor.

The by-election campaign will now get into full swing. Details on campaigning and elections sign policy can be found on Kaipara District Council’s website.

The by-election will be conducted by postal vote and voting papers will be sent to all electors whose names appear on the final electoral roll. Voting papers will be delivered from Friday 26 January 2018 and must be returned by noon Saturday 17 February 2018.

The single transferable voting (STV) electoral system will be used again. This means electors will be asked to rank the candidates according to preference rather than ticking the names of the candidates they wish to vote for.

This is a preliminary list of candidates for Mayor (as at noon 22 December 2017) is as follows:
