"Fatal crash - Northland"

Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash on Managakahia Road, near Nukutawhiti in Northland.

A vehicle has crashed and the driver has sadly died at the scene.

There was no one else in the vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the scene which is approximately three kilometres south of the Twin Bridges at around 9am this morning.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

The road is currently closed but should be reopened to one lane in approximately an hour.

There are no diversions and motorists are asked to be patient.
