Attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant Leairne Dow:
Police are investigating after a man was assaulted at an address on Picton Ave, Riccarton, around 1:00pm this afternoon.
The man is believed to have been stabbed and has been taken to hospital with critical injuries.
Fire and Emergency NZ were also called to the address after a minor fire was reported at the same house.
Police are currently speaking to a woman who is assisting with enquiries.
