Please attribute to Detective Inspector Aaron Pascoe, Auckland City Police

Police are continuing to investigate two incidents over the weekend on Tripoli Rd, Panmure which resulted in a number of people being injured.

Police increased patrols in the area last night and there were no incidents of note overnight.

Detective Inspector Aaron Pascoe says police will remain vigilant in the Panmure and Glen Innes areas.

“We want to reassure the community that we are committed to doing everything we can to find those responsible and hold them to account,” says Detective Inspector Pascoe.

Police are following strong lines of enquiries in relation to both incidents – which are believed to be connected – and are asking for anyone with information to contact police.

“There are people out there who know who are responsible for both attacks.

We urge them and their families to do the right thing and come forward to police.”

Two people remain in hospital, one of whom is in a serious but stable condition, following an incident in the early hours of Saturday morning where a vehicle struck a group of people.

Anyone who is yet to contact police is asked to call us on 09 524 1962.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
