Man in court after aggravated robbery in Palmerston North

A man’s due in court today after Police responded to an aggravated robbery in The Square, Palmerston North yesterday.

Police were called to Main St just after 3pm when cash and a phone were taken from a young male by a person who was seen with a pistol.

Police subsequently located a man with a BB gun at a nearby address and recovered the victim’s belongings.

No-one was hurt.

A 21-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Palmerton North District Court today, charged with aggravated robbery.

Police will oppose bail.
