Sky Tower lights for Auckland’s Rainbow community

Standing tall for love, diversity and equality, the Sky Tower will light in dynamic rainbow colours in support of Auckland Pride Festival from 2 – 13 February, and for the Auckland Pride Parade on 17 February.

SKYCITY is a proud sponsor of the Auckland Pride Festival and was one of the first organisations in New Zealand to become Rainbow Tick accredited more than four years ago.

For the first time, SKYCITY will be entering a float in the Pride Parade, with up to 50 staff, including CEO Graeme Stephens, taking part in the parade.

The Sky Tower is the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest free-standing structure. Based in the heart of Auckland, it is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable landmarks.

SKYCITY lights the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events, or as a symbol of respect or solidarity.
