Waikato Police have arrested a woman and charged her with murder in relation to an incident in rural Taupiri on 1 January 2018.

Emergency services were called to a Waring Road address after reports of a seriously injured man.

Upon arrival they located 26-year-old Peter Savage, who was lying outside critically injured.

Attempts to revive Mr Savage by occupants of the address and emergency services were unsuccessful.

He died at the scene.

A 26-year-old woman appeared in Hamilton District Court today and was remanded in custody until February 27.
