Serious crash - Warkworth

"Serious crash - Warkworth"

Please attribute to a police spokesperson:

Police are currently at the scene of a serious crash on State Highway 1 south of Warkworth involving a truck and a car, which occurred around 11.50am.

SH1 is currently blocked in both directions.

Three people are believed to have injuries, however we are unable to confirm the exact nature of those injuries at this stage.

Northbound traffic is currently being diverted at Puhoi, while southbound traffic is being diverted at Kaipara Flats Rd.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays.

The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
