Lakeview Recreation Reserve Lease

Lakeview Recreation Reserve Lease

A long-term lease over the new Lakeview Recreation Reserve was considered by a Queenstown Lakes District Council hearings panel on Monday.

Following deliberations, the panel chaired by Councillor John McDonald and made up by Councillors Ross McRobie and Penny Clark unanimously agreed to recommend that a long term lease over the Lakeview recreation reserve be granted to Ngai Tahu Tourism to progress the development of a world-class hot pools facility in Central Queenstown.

The panel also directed Council Chief Executive Mike Theelen to negotiate proposed terms and conditions of the lease and make a recommendation to the full Council at its May meeting.

The final decision on whether to grant the lease would also be made by the full Council in May.
