Serious crash in Paparoa, Northland

Please attribute to a police spokesperson:

Emergency services are currently in attendance at a serious crash on SH12 near Paparoa.

One person has sadly died at the scene.

One person has sustained serious injuries while another person has received moderate injuries.

Both people are expected to be airlifted to hospital.

The Serious Crash Unit is en route and diversions are being put in place at Paparoa-Oakleigh Rd and Griffin Rd.

There is no further information available at this stage.
