"Fatal crash in Rangitikei District"

A six-year-old boy has died following a crash on Turakina Valley Road, between Kauaekeke Road and Bald Hill Road, in the Rangitikei District.

It happened just before 2:15pm when a ute went down a bank.

There were no other vehicles involved.

Three from the vehicle were transported to Wanganui Hospital by road.

One person in the vehicle was winched out with the assistance of a helicopter, and they were flown to hospital.

Police cannot at this stage confirm their injury status.

The circumstances of the crash will be investigated.
