Serious crash on SH1 near Wellsford

"Serious crash on SH1 near Wellsford"

Police are in attendance at a serious crash on SH1 just south of Wellsford near Centennial Park Rd, which occurred shortly after 12.30pm.

One person has sadly died at the scene.

Multiple injuries have also been reported, however details of the injuries are not known at this stage.

SH1 is currently blocked in both directions and diversions will be put in place.

Northbound traffic is being diverted through Centennial Park Rd and southbound traffic is being diverted through SH16.

Motorist are warned to expect delays if travelling through the area.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
