"Serious crash in Waipapakauri, Far North"

Attributable to a police spokesperson:

Police are currently at the scene of a serious crash on West Coast Rd in Waipapakauri, Far North, which occurred shortly before midday.

Two cars have collided and multiple people have been injured.

At this stage three people are believed to have serious injuries and three more people have moderate injuries.

A rescue helicopter is attending the incident.

Diversions are currently in place on West Coast Rd.
