Serious crash in Matamata

Two people are in a serious but stable condition in Waikato Hospital following a crash near Matamata last night.

Emergency services were notified at 10:25pm last night of the single-vehicle crash on Morgan Road, west of the town.

The two passengers were seriously injured, and the rear passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was not injured.

The road was closed until just after 2am for a scene examination.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
