"Name release following Merivale death"

Police is now in a position to release the name of the woman who was killed in Merivale, Christchurch on 7 April.

She was 27-year-old Nicole Tuxford.

A 54-year-old man has been charged with murder and aggravated burglary in relation to Nicole’s death.

Police offer their sympathies to the friends and family of Nicole.

As the matter is before the court Police is unable to comment further.

Statement from the family of Nicole Tuxford:

The family is broken by the tragic loss of Nicole Tuxford, their beloved daughter, sister and partner.

Nicky, as she was known, was a 27-year-old accounts manager for an international logistics company based in Christchurch. She was highly thought of and considered to have a bright future with the company.

Born and bred in Dunedin, she moved to Christchurch to pursue her professional career after she finished high school.

Nicky was a funny, bubbly character who lit up a room with her personality and made other people laugh. She loved people and had ambitions to work as a counsellor so she could help others.

The family ask for privacy at this time and will not be providing any further comment. Any further media questions should be addressed to the Christchurch Police.
