Limited Edition ‘Dunedin’ Beer Created for TRENZ Delegates

Dunedin, New Zealand, 7 May, 2018: Dunedin has taken a refreshing approach to welcoming visitors coming into the city for TRENZ this week, with the release of a limited-edition Dunedin Golden Ale created by Emersons for the event. Delegates will get their first taste of the brew during the opening event at the Forsyth Barr Stadium on Monday night.

John Christie, Director of Enterprise Dunedin said, “As one of our local TRENZ partners, Emersons decided to create a bespoke beer that captured Dunedin in a bottle, which from our point of view completely echoes the authentic and creative way our city can respond to events”.

Exclusive to the event, the beer is expected to be a popular tipple during the week’s social events.

Similar to the Dunedin brand, the beer largely speaks for itself without the need for bells and whistles, but in line with the quirky sense of humour that underlines all Emersons products, the label blurb is an amusing read:

“After drinking this brainwashing liquid, you’ll be Dunedin’s biggest fan. You’ll bore anyone within earshot with facts like, ‘Dunedin has such a great vibe’, ‘Dunedin has beautiful white sandy beaches’, and ‘Dunedin has exceptional beer’. Aside from tasting like propaganda, this lightly hopped golden ale is crisp and refreshing, like our weather. And dry, like our humour. Take a sip, and spread the word”.

Richard Emerson, Founder of Emersons Brewery said, “We are extremely proud to have been brewing in our sunny little city for the last 25 years. With the help of Lion, we have created an amazing home for Emerson’s in Dunedin. TRENZ gives us an opportunity to show the rest of the world what a fantastic place Dunedin is, our little part is creating a Dunedin Golden Ale for TRENZ delegates to have a little taste of Dunners”
