What: Miromoda Runway Show 2018

When: Saturday 30 June, 6.30pm – 9pm

Where: Pātaka Art + Museum, 17 Parumoana Street, Porirua

Further information:

The Miromoda Runway Show is back in Porirua City for Matariki 2018.

We’re excited to be hosting this fantastic show for another year at Pātaka Art + Museum. This year’s event will showcase collections from eight of New Zealand's most talented Māori fashion designers. These eight designers are selected from the nationwide Miromoda competition, the winner of which is then announced after the Miromoda Runway Show.

It will be an amazing night of fashion and creativity.

VIP tickets have already sold out but there are $15 general admission tickets available – so we’re expecting the show to be just as popular as previous years.

The Miromoda competition is judged by the Indigenous Māori Fashion Apparel Board – a panel made up of Dame Pieter Stewart, founder of NZ Fashion Week, New Zealand Fashion Week Event Manager Janey Evett and Lucire fashion magazine publisher, Jack Yan.

The Miromoda competition and model call provide a great pathway for the youth of Porirua to build confidence and showcase their creative talents through modelling and fashion design. These initiatives provide fantastic opportunities for students at high school, tertiary and post-graduate levels. The Miromoda Runway Show exhibits the best of modern Māori fashion design and is committed to nurturing the development of the fashion industry’s Māori designers.

The Miromoda Runway Show 2018 is a Women's Suffrage 125 event as part of the national campaign commemorating 125 years of women achieving the right to vote and inspiring future women of New Zealand.
