SH1 north of Whangarei closed due to flooding

SH1 at Puhipuhi Road, Whakapara is shut due to flooding.

We estimate there is almost half a metre of water coming across the road, and it appears to be rising.

Diversions are in place along Jordan Valley Rd and Hukerenui Rd.

But drivers should avoid the area and make alternative travel plans.
