"Body located in Coromandel"

Police have located a body in the Coromandel bush.

The body was found on the Castle Rock Track yesterday afternoon during a search for missing 37-year-old Shannon Earle Makowharemahihi.

Mr Makowharemahihi, from Coromandel, was last seen on 1 June.

He was known to go into the bush to meditate.

Police are today working to remove the body from the track so a formal identification process can take place.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
