Health and Wellbeing Plan for Palmerston North

Health and Wellbeing Plan being developed for Palmerston North

26 June 2018

Palmerston North residents and groups are being asked for their views on the health and wellbeing of people and families/whānau in their community.

These views will contribute to the development of a Health and Wellbeing Plan for the city and its surrounding locales.

MidCentral DHB is developing this plan to gain a better understanding of the priority needs of different communities within the district and to place people and families/whānau at the centre of planning decisions.

Health and Wellbeing plans have already been completed for Tararua, Manawatū, Horowhenua and Ōtaki, with the Palmerston North plan expected to be completed in December.

The Health and Wellbeing Plans aim to make a positive contribution to the health outcomes of the area. They will be used to make any changes necessary to continuously improve our health system, as part of the wider heath sector and social services network.

The project wants to get people’s views from across the community and an online survey is available at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PNHealthandWellbeing.

Those who complete the survey will go in the draw to win a $100 New World voucher. Paper surveys will also be available at libraries in the city.

Other ways you can become involved include:

• Stay updated through the MidCentral DHB website www.midcentraldhb.govt.nz (click on Locality Planning on the homepage)

• Email planning4health@midcentraldhb.govt.nz if you have any questions, would like to receive updates and/or would like an invite to a community forum.
