Roading and walking tracks update 27 July
NZ Transport Agency contractors have cleared the slip at Ruamahunga Bay and State Highway 25 there (Thames Coast Road) is open to traffic in both directions with no stop-go in place.
An estimated 10,000m3 of material fell on the road after the storm of Sunday 15 July.

Council
roads:
Neavesville Rd, Matatoki is closed, due to a slip.
Residents have access via a detour around the slip
site.
Wharf Rd, Colville. Drive with extreme caution due
to a drop-out.
All other Council roads in the district
are open.
Walking tracks
Several walking tracks have
been closed until further notice because of slips following
Sunday's rain. Please heed the tracks closed signage for
your own safety.
Karaka Track - closed
Long Bay to Tucks Bay Walk (near Coromandel Town) - closed
Long Bay Kauri Walk (near Coromandel Town) - closed. Please don't enter, for your own safety and to minimise the risk of spreading kauri dieback, which has increased with the large amounts of bare soil the slip has exposed.
The Department of Conservation has provided the following information on tracks on public conservation land in the Coromandel:
There are no tracks shut within the Kauaeranga Valley.
Cathedral Cove arch is closed because of rock fall but the tracks are open.
Fletcher Bay campground is closed.
Coromandel Coastal Walkway can only be accessed from the Stony Bay end.
