Furry feline's big day out

Police escorted an unexpected passenger to a Holden dealership in the most unorthodox way after a furry feline tucked himself up into a cavity underneath a police patrol car on Wednesday.

The little feline found his way onto the Northwestern Motorway and caused commuter chaos until police arrived to manage the incident with the assistance of a few good Samaritans.

The poor little kitten had lost his leg by the time Police arrived and our officer, assisted by five members of the public, attempted to catch the fluffy feline who was causing all the kerfuffle.

However, still very agile on three legs, the kitten clambered up underneath the stationary patrol car and firmly ensconced himself on an unreachable ledge near the car’s diff.

Unable to remove him after significant efforts, the kitten was eventually escorted at very low speed, to Giltrap Motors where a team of mechanics were waiting to retrieve the furry feline from his hiding place.

“The mechanics were incredible and it was like watching a Formula 1 pit crew team work on a racing car with the speed they removed the exhaust and parts of the suspension to get to the poor kitten,” said Constable Warwick Lyes.

A Giltrap staff member was waiting with a box to transport the kitten over to the Glenfield Vet Clinic.

He has been treated for his injuries and is reported to be doing well and has had several offers for new home.

We suspect our furry little friend used up a few of his nine lives on Wednesday but we’re pleased to report he’s doing well after his harrowing ordeal.
