"Truck fire Maramarua, Waikato"

Police are advising motorists to avoid State Highway 2 near Maramarua which has been closed due to a truck fire.

Emergency services were called at around 4.25pm.

No one has been injured.

There are diversions in place, for north-bound traffic at Kopuku Road and for south-bound traffic at Rawiri Road.

SH2 is expected to be closed for approximately two hours.
