Christchurch Weather Disruption

Fog in Christchurch is causing significant disruption to services into and out of the city this morning.

Customers booked to travel on both jet and turbo-prop services to or from Christchurch today are advised to keep an eye on the Air New Zealand arrivals and departures page or sign up for travel alerts to ensure they are kept up to date with flight information.

Customers who don’t have an urgent reason for travel today are strongly encouraged to defer their travel and the airline is offering the following flexibility:

* Defer travel to a later Air New Zealand flight before the 05 October 2018 at no extra cost. If the proposed date of travel is unknown, the value of the ticket may be held in credit for 12 months.

The Air New Zealand customer contact centre is currently experiencing very high call volumes as a result of the disruption and customers are advised to avoid calling if possible. Most customers have the ability to manage their booking online via the view and manage booking option on the Air New Zealand website.

Customers wishing to hold their fare in credit or defer travel to another date are not required to make changes prior to the scheduled departure of their original flight, they can do so at their convenience.
