Wanaka Beer Festival is back and bigger than ever for 2018 in Wanaka, New Zealand (1st December 2018).

After the sold-out success of the Wanaka Beer Festival in 2016 & 2017, this year’s event is bigger and better than before, at the Wanaka Showgrounds, Saturday December 1st. The festival this year will more than double in size, with 1,200 tickets available and the opportunity to taste 6 local breweries; B’effect, Ground Up, Maverick, Rhyme & Reason, Sidewinder and Wanaka Beer Works, as well as 6 guest breweries including Deep Creek Brewing, from Auckland and Canyon Brewing based in Queenstown, Renaissance from Blenheim & some more surprise announcements.

There will be also be live entertainment from local acts as well as the Wanaka Beats DJs, delicious food stalls with a BBQ theme from local vendors TiriTiri Kitchen, Morsel, Burrito Craft, Fully Pitted BBQ & more - all presented in an open-air festival style.

This year the organisers have brought a BBQ theme to the festival – ‘We are always looking to change up the festival every year to keep things interesting. This year we thought our first theme would be ‘Beers & BBQ’ – since it was the first day of summer, we thought what better way to kick it all off with the quintessential Kiwi BBQ!”

Organiser James Hay believes the Wanaka Beer Festival is a chance to sample new flavours, with brewers showcasing unusual and singular styles, that are normally not for sale. There will also be free tasters. “As we got a little bigger, we know punters may not sample all the breweries, so we wanted to give two free tasters for each entrant so that they can try something they might not usually”

Family friendly for the first year, there will also be a disc golf course, wine, beer, cocktails, a home brew competition and games. The first batch of early bird tickets have already sold out but with the second early bird release at 12pm October 1st, there is still time to grab your ticket!
Suitable for families and anyone over the age of 18, includes an exclusive pint glass, beer tasting notes and two free tasters.
