The NZ
Transport Agency advises motorists that State Highway 1
north of Puhoi is closed in both directions after a fatal
crash.
The crash involving a car and a truck happened
between Puhoi and Mahurangi West Road.
It’s not clear
when the road will reopen. Please avoid the area or delay
your journey.
The detour for traffic heading south is to
turn off SH1 at Woodcocks Road, go on to SH16 and then
Kahikatea Flat Road to return to SH1 at Silverdale. It’s
the same detour in reverse for traffic heading north,
turning off SH1 at Dairy Flat Highway to get to Kahikatea
Flat Road. Or take SH16 from the
city.
