Power outage update: Wider Taupō region
This update
follows our earlier update on the outage affecting the Wider
Taupō region. Our crews are currently onsite and have
restored power to Wairakei substation. We estimate it will
take some time for Unison to restore power to individuals
and businesses in affected areas.
The outage was caused by
an electrical equipment fault which occurred on one of the
feeders that supply Unison, the local lines company.
There
is never a good time for communities to be without power,
and we apologise for the inconvenience. Our priority is
restoring power supply to the wider Taupō region as soon,
and as safely, as possible We will continue to provide
further updates on our Facebook
page.
