"Homicide inquiry launched following incident in Petone"

Police have launched a homicide inquiry following an incident in Petone last night [Friday 30 November].

Police were called to a Jackson Street address about 9.50pm, where a 71-year-old man was found deceased.

One person is currently assisting Police with their inquiries.

The investigation is ongoing and Police are working to understand the circumstances of the incident.
