The bodies of two people who died in a light plane crash in Raglan this afternoon have been recovered from the scene.
The crash occurred toward the shoreline at the end of East Street about 3.20pm.
Police are working to identify the deceased and notify next-of-kin.
A number of witnesses have already been spoken to, and Police will take statements from others in the coming days.
The plane is now in the care of the Civil Aviation Authority.
