"Update - Kawakawa home invasion incident"

Attribute to Detective Sergeant Greg Johnson:

Police can confirm that the elderly female victim of the Kawakawa home invasion incident last night has recently been discharged from hospital.

She is being supported by her family and is also being provided with victim support.

The victim is currently being interviewed by Police.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and a scene examination is continuing at the address.

Police are aware of recent occurrences across the mid north area of Northland of two females, described as Maori, approaching residents asking for petrol.

Police believe these may be connected to the home invasion incident and we want to hear from anyone who has had such an incident happen to them in recent weeks.
